Hi,the issue should now be fixed in 1.4.4-2 (by adding "python3-minimal" in tests/control). It is uploaded to the mentors server.
Could you provide me some information about your autopkgtest environment? I am currently using the "unstable" image created by "autopkgtest-build-qemu". This seems to come with a python3 interpreter installed by default (i.e. autopkgtest succeeds without "python3-minimal" set in tests/control). For testing dependency issues in the future, it would be useful to run the same kind of image as it is used for the review process.
