* Again for this NMU, modifications have been limited to:
- Symbols have been updated
- Patches have been refreshed
Like for the previous NMU upload I did for this package that seems no
longer maintained, I did the minimal changes. I contacted the maintainer
a week ago and I didn't get any replies. Please note that for the
previous update (v3.5.0), I didn't have any replies from the official
maintainer even after one year, see ticket #983310. Also, I didn't
notified the MIA like I did last time because I guess there is no need
to insist but feel free to tell me if this is still needed.
The last version in Debian is the v3.5.0 while the latest upstream
one -- v3.7.0 -- has been one month ago, a few months after the v3.6.0.
This lib is used by a bunch of apps to communicate with the Linux
kernel. The 3.7.0 version adds some new features but it also fixes bugs.
libnl devs don't seem to maintain any stable branches for this project.
This packages has a few lintian issues but if I'm not mistaken, no new
ones compared to the previous version. Because it is a NMU and the
situation is unclear with the official maintainer, these old lintian
issues have not been addressed.
