Package: sponsorship-requests
Severity: important

Dear mentors,

I am looking for a sponsor for a nmu of the package "extsmail".
Please upload to DELAYED/7 to give the maintainer time to react to the patch.

 * Package name    : extsmail
   Version         : 2.0-2.1
   Section         : mail

It builds those binary packages:

  extsmail - enables the robust sending of e-mail to external commands

To access further information about this package, please visit the following URL:

  https://mentors.debian.net/package/extsmail

Alternatively, one can download the package with dget using this command:

  dget -x https://mentors.debian.net/debian/pool/main/e/extsmail/extsmail_2.0-2.1.dsc

Changes since the last upload:

extsmail (2.0-2.1) unstable; urgency=medium

  * Non-maintainer upload.
  * Disable the "format" hardening-feature to fix FTBFS (Closes: #871086)

Regards,
  Andreas Moog

Note that in general disabling -Wformat-security is a really bad idea; I've
just days ago found an exploitable bug caught by this very option. The
maintainer also wanted to disable the warning instead of looking at the
cause.

For extsmail, though, I've tried building with -Wformat enabled -- all
warnings are:
warning: ISO C does not support the '%m' gnu_printf format [-Wformat=]
which is a pointless but harmless shorthand for '%s', strerror(errno).

I'd recommend having upstream patch this out for portability, but for now,
your patch sounds acceptable.

Uploaded to DELAYED/7.
