You are not using the dh_python tool, which means that your package fails several points of the Python applications packaging policy (in particular, the .py files you install are not bytecompiled). Further, you list each dependency manually, whereas with dh_python you could just use the $(python:Depends) substvar. Please check out dh_python! -- Sean Whitton
