Initially, I was also held of by this disclaimer.
However there are two reasons why I decided to package yabar for Debian anyway:
* I have seen people use yabar "in production", since it can easily be extended with custom scripts
* while using yabar myself I have not encountered any breaking/major issues.

That is exactly how I would describe it. yabar is not complete and yabar has some issues (as can be seen on GitHub).
Nevertheless, yabar is not experimental software and I do not expect any breaking changes (i.e. config file syntax).
