Package: sponsorship-requests
Severity: normal

  Dear mentors,

  I am looking for a sponsor for my package "ipython"

 * Package name    : ipython
   Version         : 5.0.0-1
   Upstream Author : The IPython Development Team
 * URL             : http://ipython.org/
 * License         : BSD-3-clause
   Section         : python

  It builds those binary packages:

    ipython - Enhanced interactive Python 2 shell
 ipython3   - Enhanced interactive Python 3 shell
 python-ipython - Enhanced interactive Python shell (Python 2 version)
 python-ipython-doc - Enhanced interactive Python shell (documentation)
 python3-ipython - Enhanced interactive Python shell (Python 3 version)

To access further information about this package, please visit the following URL:

  https://mentors.debian.net/package/ipython

  Alternatively, one can download the package with dget using this command:

dget -x https://mentors.debian.net/debian/pool/main/i/ipython/ipython_5.0.0-1.dsc

  It is packaged within the Debian Python Modules Team:
Vcs-Git: https://anonscm.debian.org/git/python-modules/packages/ipython4.git
Vcs-Browser: https://anonscm.debian.org/cgit/python-modules/packages/ipython4.git

I want to update the version in experimental as part of the effort to package jupyter in Debian.

Cheers,

Snark on #debian-python

Hi,

*sadly* sponsored.

one thing to fix for the next release, bump iPython copyright year to 2016.

one thing I want fixed for the unstable upload is to add the changelog back.

The experimental changelog has just a single entry, and all the work that has
been done in unstable before has been deleted

http://metadata.ftp-master.debian.org/changelogs/main/i/ipython/unstable_changelog
http://metadata.ftp-master.debian.org/changelogs/main/i/ipython/experimental_changelog.

So, while uploading back to unstable, I would like to see the previous changelogs entries
restored.
(or an explanation for the drop ;) )

cheers,

G.
