Bug#822856: RFS: dvtm/0.15-0.1 NMU

Hi,

>Okay, I can agree that compat 10 is unnecessery. But still someone
>someday will have to do it.

probably the maintainer, or you if MIA team orphan the package and you
adopt it :)

BTW maybe lets wait for compat 10 to become stable and then think about it :)
>Sorry, can't locate any just-for-fun changes beside compat 10.

there aren't "just-for-fun" changes, every change you did is good and appreciated
just the policy forbits them for NMUs :)

anyway, I think if you revert compat 10 we should be ready (note: I didn't recheck
all the changes)

>Is it imperative to revert it?

if you want a speedy NMU yes, if you want to wait some months no, we can let
MIA team ping the maintainer, and then take over the package.

>STRIP variable?

no. you did it correctly.
I mean, the STRIP export in debian/rules is added because of side-effect
of the new upstream release, because the old one didn't have the strip implemented.
So, even if not strictly necessary, this change is needed to avoid empty debug packages.

So, my sentence was a "thumb up"

>Bumped severity.

thanks

let me know how you want to proceed,

(I pinged MIA team privately a few seconds again, lets see!)
