Bug#768487: RFS: fasm/1.71.22 -- fast assembler for the x86 and x86-64 architectures

Package: sponsorship-requests
Severity: wishlist

  Dear mentors,

  I am looking for a sponsor for my package "fasm":

 * Package name    : fasm
   Version         : 1.71.22-1
   Upstream Author : Tomasz Grysztar
 * URL             : http://flatassembler.net
 * License : FASM license (Simplified BSD with a weak copyleft clause)
   Section         : devel

  It builds those binary packages:

    fasm - fast assembler for the x86 and x86-64 architectures

  To access further information about this package, please visit the following URL:

  http://mentors.debian.net/package/fasm

  Alternatively, one can download the package with dget using this command:

  dget -x http://mentors.debian.net/debian/pool/main/f/fasm/fasm_1.71.22-1.dsc

  NOTES:

  1) the first upload fixes https://bugs.debian.org/513402
  2) the gbp packaging is hosted here:
     http://anonscm.debian.org/cgit/collab-maint/fasm.git
  3) fasm is x86 and x64 assembler, however it builds as a i386 ELF static
     binary (even on x64)
  4) fasm is a self-assembling assembler, therefore it has to be bootstrapped;
     the "-1" upload packages the binary provided upstream (the "master" branch);
     the "-2" depends on "fasm" and uses it to build itself (the "after" branch);
     after the second step fasm should be properly bootstrapped

  Regards,
  T. Buchert
