Bug#754463: RFS: pdf2htmlex/0.11+ds-1

Package: sponsorship-requests
Severity: wishlist

Dear mentors,

I am looking for a sponsor for my package "pdf2htmlex"

 * Package name    : pdf2htmlex
   Version         : 0.11+ds-1
   Upstream Author : WANG Lu <coolwanglu@gmail.com>
 * URL             : http://github.com/coolwanglu/pdf2htmlEX
 * License         : GPL3, MIT, CC-BY-3.0
   Section         : misc

It builds those binary packages:

  pdf2htmlex - Converts PDF to HTML while retaining most formatting

To access further information about this package, please visit the following URL:

This is the most advanced PDF to HTML converter that I have seen so far.
I was looking for a way to publish the scientific papers I wrote over
the years and I wanted to offer a way such that one could view them
without having to use a PDF viewer. Unfortunately it seems that the
existing options for converting PDF to HTML are missing many features
which make them unusable for complex PDF as those produced by latex for
scientific conferences and journals (multi column, complicated figures).

While not 100% pixel perfect, pdf2htmlEX produces HTML pages that are
absolutely readable for all the content I tried. Using the fallback mode
it is even possible to view them with javascript disabled.

cheers, josch
