I had that construction before, but then when changing a document line
all packages got a new version and have to be updated while nothing is
changed. Each program logs its version number and then they differ
from the package version. That can also be confusing. Is there
something comparable that I can use to solve this.

I developed the software on debian (wheezy) systems and all package
information is in debian sub-directories. I use a repository on the
servers to install the packages. Maybe you can give me a hint how to
solve this when needed.
