We need a sponsor for this package and you are very welcome.
Unfortunately I will have very few spare time until February.
However I think that Koichi can fix what is still needed (if anything). I checked what is still needed. The package is compiling with some warnings, but should be in a good shape. The git repository is the latest version and the package should be compliant with Debian policy 3.9.5. Yesterday I added me and Koichi as uploaders.
I never used it extensively, so I think it would be better to upload to experimental.
