I had another look at the package via the mentors.debian.net page, and I have
a couple of further suggestions.
debian/copyright:
- change license name ALADDIN to Zlib. The actual license text is identical
and Zlib is a standard short name keyword, while ALADDIN is not. Mainly
I think using the Zlib short name makes it clear that the license is not
new and thus doesn't require investigation, easing the work on the FTP
masters examining the package once it makes it to the NEW queue.
debian/watch:
- add file to help with QA. I've created one that works, which
contains this:
# Compulsory line, this is a version 3 file
version=3
# Old versions of svxlink took the form of svxlink-090426.tar.gz, but
# newer versions take the form of svxlink-13.12.tar.gz
http://sf.net/svxlink/svxlink-(.+)\.(.+)\.tar\.gz
I've incorporated both of these on the package I've put in my public
repository; the package itself is placed at:
http://debian-packages.coredump.us/debian/pool/main/s/svxlink/
procedural:
- make a new upload to mentors.debian.net with these two minor fixes
(using the same version number, AFAIK)
- send a message to the [debian-hams] mailing list announcing the
availability of the package and seeking sponsorship -- essentially a
duplicate message of the one sent to [debian-mentors]. Although
[debian-hams] is fairly quiet, I still think that's the place giving
the best bet of adopting a ham-related package.
Thanks!
