[Nbd] general protection fault: 0000 [#1] SMP

Linux box05 2.6.32-02063209-generic #02063209 SMP Wed Feb 24 10:09:53
UTC 2010 x86_64 GNU/Linux

i have a nbd device set up as an ext3 filesystem for an rsync target
for ~ 170 GB of data

in the process of diagnosing the bug, i ended up compiling and using
the latest nbd build for my client nbd-2.9.15, but am using version
karmic's version 2.9.11 on the server

my system would constantly reboot during the rsync, so i fiddled with
many settings, finally settling on iommu=calgary and turning off txt
protection in the bios

that finally let my system stay up and actually print out what i
believe the real error was
