OK, I started to install the test suite. Here are the problems:

-	yacc is in /usr/ccs/bin/
As this is not in the default PATH for root, the yacc test fails

-	tar has no 'z' option
(so I used star to extract)

-	The tar files are not POSIX compliant (pease don't use GNUtar
but star to create portable archives).

-	chown does not support "chown {user}.{group}"
"chown {user}:{group}" is the correct syntax.

	Error message is:
Setting up ownership and permissions correctly
		chown: unbekannte Benutzerkennung vsx0.vsxg0

... hope this helps to make you test more standard compliant.

Next question:

	-	Do I really need to run the test suite on Linux?

	-	is there a simple way to run only the tar tests?
