I also suggest using the latest install.sh and tet_vsxgen_1.1.tgz file
available from ftp://lsb.sourceforge.net/pub/lsb/test_suites. Andrew
would it be possible for you to mirror this off the SourceForge ftp
site? If the ftp server is down you can get it by scp'ing it direct
off shell.sourceforge.net in /home/groups/ftp/pub/lsb/test_suites/

I just tried the latest fhs test suite beta using the latest install
and tet_vsxgen tarball and it ran through fine (including re-executing
failed tests).
