Re: Federal Information Processing Standards (FIPS)
Hi George
My understanding is that FIPS 151-2 is now withdrawn.
Either way we have the relevant test coverage in the VSX-PCTS
which as well as being a POSIX test suite has a FIPS test mode.
Our belief is that the VSX-PCTS is a better base than the NIST-PCTS,
for example it uses the TET/VSXgen frameworks that allow it to be
more flexible. Also the last update to the NIST-PCTS was 1995ish,
whereas VSX-PCTS is an ongoing concern.
We're working on a detailed test status to give at the upcoming LSB meeting
in SFO in a couple of weeks.
regards
Andrew
