Specification v 0.8

Version 0.8 of the LSB specification has been released. This version is
complete with the exception of a few man pages which are still being written.

Please use this URL,

	http://www.linuxbase.org/spec/lsbreview.html

to review the specification, and enter any comments you may have.

No further changes are planned, however testing and comments from review,
may result in changes being made prior to the 1.0 release of the specification.

Also available is the corresponding lsbdev package. The package can be obtained
from

	ftp://lsb.sourceforge.net/pub/lsb/lsbdev

This package contains the development libraries that should be used to build
an LSB application. It also contains tools for measuring the compliance of
applications and a check of the OS as well. Information on these tools can
be found at

	http://www.linuxbase.org/usinglsbdev.html

If you are responsible for an application, please run lsbappchk (found in the
lsbdev package) on it, and report your findings to lsb-spec@lists.linuxbase.org
for discussion.

At this point feedback from the community is critical for the completion
of the LSB Specification. Your time and comments are greatly appreciated.
