   scripts, with SysV compatibility.  Although all the SysV startup scripts
   are in /etc/rc.d/init.d, with the S##.foo in /etc/rc.d/rc.# 

Um.... would you care to expand on that?

When do the System V startup scripts execute?  After the BSD-style
startup scripts?
