Hi,
Here you can find some information about TLS over gopher.
It doesn't violate the gopher specification:
gopher://bitreich.org/0/usr/20h/phlog/2020-06-07T18-28-23-863932.md
Some programs that support the gopher protocol like curl, ffmpeg, mplayer
support TLS over gopher also (using gophers://), thanks to the nice work of
parazyd of getting it upstream.
A nice text-based client that supports gophers:// is sacc:
gopher://bitreich.org/1/scm/sacc
