RE: Confused about item-type for PDF files
There seems a need for a table of supported types for all main Gopher clients. I've found consistent support of types across people's gopherholes to be patchy at best.

For what it is worth, the venerable LibWWW from W3 doesn't mention a PDF type or a document type.
