Floodgap Gopher Proxy now HTTPS/TLS
I've completed internal confidence testing, so now it's time for a wider-scale
test. There is now a TLS version of the Floodgap Public Gopher Proxy at
https://gopher.floodgap.com/gopher/gw
now using Let's Encrypt certificates. Please test the proxy and report any
issues. If no one finds any major problems, I will update OverbiteWX to use
the TLS version by default in future releases. Performance is being improved,
but do note it is a bit slower than the unencrypted version due to how the
backend is set up and this cannot be entirely avoided. That said, I have no
plans to decommission the unencrypted HTTP version for those browsers that
require it.
