Re: [gopher] Future of this list, etc.

Can we just secure NNTP from spammers? How hard could it be? :P

I've been 'Jaruzel' for over 30 years, since before the internet when I
used it as an online name for BBSs and MUDs. Yes it's from Jaruzelski, but
only because I was originally stuck for a name whilst logging onto my
first MUD, and he was the headline in that days newspaper. I was 12 at the
time, and didn't know that the name would stick, but I ended up being only
known by that name by many friends both online and off (and still am!)

Anyway...

So my Vote is:

1. comp.infosystems.gopher on USENet. Going anywhere else doesn't make any
sense.
2. A simple web front end to it (because Google Groups UI is horrible).
This can talk to a public USENet server every hour or so to get new posts
etc.
3. A mailing-list interface as well, for those who want to consume it via
email.
4. An archive of the group on an Authoratitive Gopher server (of course!)
