Yes of course css is not used in user menus there.

The initial argument was "HTTP is better because it comes with CSS/JS/whatnot", to what I responded that gopher supports these just as well, in the same way.

Of course CSS support requires to use html, too, since both these
technologies come in pair.

Well, more accurately, Overbite is just transferring the CSS for an HTML
document; CSS isn't styling a gopher menu here.
