Bug#1030218: please consider setting delaycompress in logrotate.d/apt

Package: apt
Version: 2.5.5
Severity: wishlist

Please consider adding the "delaycompess" option to the logrotate
configuration file. It might be the case that apt itself does not need
this option for correct log rotation (I didnt verify this), but the vast
majority of other packages is using delaycompress, and apt being
different creates funny moments when people notice that term.log is
directly rotated to term.log.1.gz.

Also, it is not possible for the ->aide package to properly handle this
method of log rotation without either broadly excluding the logs from
checksumming or generating false alarms.

Thanks for your consideration.

Greetings
Marc
