attached is a (new) debconf translation for apt into Occitan, submitted by 
Quentin PAGÈS <quentinantonin@free.fr>.

Please include it as ./po/oc.po in apt.

Occitan has been added shortly as a new language in the debian-installer.
Please, support this new language effort.

I do not believe this is a Launchpad issue, if it is, please file a bug
in Launchpad. That said, I don't care about your workflow, I care about
submissions being of adequate quality. If it triggers warnings during
merging with the POT file, is not ~80% translated, this is clearly not
up to our standards (50% it has like now is close to where it really
should be removed, not added).

That being said, in general, crowd-sourced translations are not up to
Debian's standard and need significant rework. This seems to be the case
here too, as can be seen by the non-breaking space messup and the
carriage return character. Usually they'll also be inconsistent, or just
downright wrong, which is why Debian uses individual translators,
coupled with mailing lists for review of translations.

Ah, but fr.po actually uses a non breaking space,characters c2 a0 (presumably UTF-8 for \u00a0), whereas
you use a simple space, character code 20. No other file in po/ uses a simple space before a colon.

Whether a space is correct or not is a different question. I'd consider
this output to be aligned to deb822 formatting, and hence a space wrong,
we also do not reformat "show" to say "Paquet :" instead of "Package:",
though arguably I'd be open for it to say "Paquet:".

This creates a legal issue now, because you have not been truthful about translating
this _yourself_, and have violated the license by stripping attribution,
including my employer's copyright statement.

Either way, with the outstanding formatting and legal issues, this is not
appropriate for merging into 2.2.4, but I'm happy to reconsider
next release, which might be next month or so.

# TODO

I think we can agree on at least the following bullet points:

- Fix the \r\n messup
- Use non-breaking space \u00a0 instead of \u0020 where appropriate
- Re-add copyright statements or rewrite translations you have not
  written yourself from scratch
- Add enough translations to cover 80% of the strings in the file
- Get a review of the complete translation

Seeing that we are late in the cycle, please make sure to also
use the translation for at least a week and thoroughly test it.

I'll close this issue for now, as that needs a larger amount of work,
and keeping it open does not provide a useful contribution.
