Happy New Year, transition to python3 and apt-rdepends.

Dear all,

First of all a happy new year to all. I was looking at python3.8
transition tracker [1] and one of the interesting things that caught
my eye was the python-apt transition [2] which is a planned transition
along with some other transitions with which it collides with,
although the main one perhaps is python3.8 transition as well as
python2.7 rm [3] transition which has not even started. From the
tracker it seems the first thing will be moving all the bits to
python3 and then at somewhat not-so-distant future the auto-apt
transition will start. Can anybody share a roadmap about that ?

The other thing which I read in the mailing list recently was Jak or
Julain Andres Klode's reply to Vipul [4] where he has mentioned the
fact that apt rdepends is confusing. I do completely agree with it In
fact there are couple of questions about it on unix.stackexchange.com
wihich deals with the above [5] [6] and I do feel it would be a lot
better if we had a sub-command which only showed the apt-rdepends of
the package itself rather than that also of recommends . I also saw
that it is suppsoed to show a dot graph but I tried but never came
close to see it [7] .
