Bug#818582: aptitude cannot deal with often changing IP
Recently, probably after switching from ftp://ftp.... to
http://httpredir...., the bug described above occurs no more. Another
bug now seldom occurs (hash sum mismatch), which may or may not be related.
Why nobody told me that I'm measuring the IP addresses in the wrong way?
Sites like
http://checkmyip.com/
show that my IP address continues changing often -- every minute or so,
while
ip addr show eth0 | grep "inet .* brd"
always reports a constant address very different from the changing ones.
It is even the wrong country.
