Package: apt Version: 0.5.14 Severity: wishlist Tags: patch You find attached a patch to add apt-shell from apt-rpm to debian apt. Apt-shell is a shell like interface for apt with readline support, statefull cache and other goodies. See: https://distro.conectiva.com.br/pipermail/apt-rpm/2003-March/001412.html for a summary of the features. The patch is split into two parts: 1. apt-shell-common.diff adds stuff to apt that apt-shell needs 2. apt-shell-shell.diff is the shell interface itself The patch is against apt-0.5.14 and work for me(tm). It breaks the ABI though. bye, Michael -- Package-specific info: -- (/etc/apt/preferences present, but not submitted) -- -- (/etc/apt/sources.list present, but not submitted) -- -- System Information: Debian Release: testing/unstable Architecture: i386 Kernel: Linux sam 2.6.0-test11 #20 Fri Nov 28 11:25:25 CET 2003 i686 Locale: LANG=C, LC_CTYPE=de_DE Versions of packages apt depends on: ii libc6 2.3.2.ds1-10 GNU C Library: Shared libraries an ii libgcc1 1:3.3.2-4 GCC support library ii libstdc++5 1:3.3.2-4 The GNU Standard C++ Library v3 -- no debconf informationAttachment: apt-shell-common-v2.diff.gz

There's also aptsh in the archive already for anyone reading this (not sure if it actually works, though). -- Julian Andres Klode - Debian Developer, Ubuntu Member See http://wiki.debian.org/JulianAndresKlode and http://jak-linux.org/.
