Bug#645713: apt: Could not perform immediate configuration on 'openjdk-6-jre'

Package: apt
Version: 0.9.7.9+deb7u1
Followup-For: Bug #645713

Dear Maintainer,

   * What led up to the situation?
     apt-get dist-upgrade, Squeeze->Wheezy.

   * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or ineffective)?
     http://www.howtoforge.com/how-to-upgrade-debian-squeeze-to-wheezy

     Note in particular the part which calls for aptitude to declare that
     "No packages are scheduled to be installed, removed or upgraded",
     which is exactly what it did.

   * What was the outcome of this action?
     win7host02:~# >>> apt-get dist-upgrade
     ....
     [hours later]
     ....
     Get:1630 http://ftp.de.debian.org/debian/ wheezy/main xbrlapi amd64 4.4-10+deb7u1 [153 kB]                                                                                                    Fetched 1,114 MB in 2h 23min 3s (130 kB/s)                                                                                                                                                    E: Could not perform immediate configuration on 'openjdk-6-jre'. Please see man 5 apt.conf under APT::Immediate-Configure for details. (2)
     win7host02:~# >>>

   * What outcome did you expect instead?

     In the output above I expected the line beginning with "E:" to be missing
     and a lot of other lines to exist - things like packages being replaced,
     configurations being bollixed, that kind of stuff.

I am reporting this bug on a system that still works. Obviously the
System Information is no use to anyone because this is not the system
