Package: apt Version: 0.8.10.3 Severity: grave Tags: upstream Justification: renders package unusable I am using apt-cdrom for upgrading my system from a web interface. This stopped working and after investigating; I noticed that apt 0.8.10 ignores my CD drive completely; while 0.7.20 operates as expected. The odd thing seems to be that the newer version does not even prompt for CDs, while messages on the internet all seem to point to the countrary. user@server001:~$ sudo dpkg -i apt_0.8.10.3_amd64.deb apt-utils_0.8.10.3_amd64.deb ; echo now using 0.8.10 ; sudo apt-cdrom add; sudo dpkg -i apt_0.7.20.2+lenny2_amd64.deb apt-utils_0.7.20.2+lenny2_amd64.deb ; echo now using 0.7.20; sudo apt-cdrom add (Reading database ... 30232 files and directories currently installed.) Bug is marked for more than 2 years as needing more information. As we are are talking about a lenny to squeeze "upgrade" which was done by hand with dpkg this could have all sorts of reasons and investigating this further now has probably not much benefits (if at all). I am therefore closing as "unreproducible & expired". Best regards David KalnischkiesAttachment: signature.asc
