Hi all,
I installed daptup and had to ultimately purge as it give too much
info. which was confusing to users i.e. me. It just gave too much
info. for me to make sense of things.

I had to fall-back on my aliases apto and aptc to see what it was
saying as outdated really had issues or not :-

$ alias apto
alias apto='aptitude search ~o'

$ alias aptc
alias aptc='aptitude search '\''~c'\'''

I like it how aptitude just tells of updated packages and if there are
any obsolete packages it points it out .

That is good enough.

@Michael Vogt thank you. I do hope the patch is integrated into the
next version.
