Package: apt Version: 0.9.9.4 Severity: important Dear Maintainer, I'm new to debian but I want to help. I don't now if it's realy "apt" problem. Today I installed debian Wheezy with Xfce desktop from official debian DVD and all was great. But when I changed my "sources.list" to testing and did "apt-get update", followed by "apt-get dist-upgrade" - Initially "apt" advised that 600 or 700 programs will be upgraded (I don't remember the exact number); finally more then 1200 where downloaded- I noticed that "apt" was downloading many Gnome libraries and programs and it was removing many Xfce libraries and programs. When "apt" finished "dist-upgrade" I restarted my laptop and I ended up at Debian Jessie With Gnome 3 desktop. The problem was this. I found some other people experiencing the same problem. I hope my report is not a duplicate of other bug. Fell free to remove my report if is not realy a bug. Sorry for my bad english. I'm french and spanish spoken. I hope you understand my report. Good luck, and thanks for all debian community :) -- Package-specific info: -- apt-config dump -- APT ""; APT::Architecture "i386"; APT::Build-Essential ""; APT::Build-Essential:: "build-essential"; APT::Install-Recommends "1"; APT::Install-Suggests "0"; APT::Authentication ""; APT::Authentication::TrustCDROM "true"; APT::NeverAutoRemove ""; APT::NeverAutoRemove:: "^firmware-linux.*"; APT::NeverAutoRemove:: "^linux-firmware$"; APT::NeverAutoRemove:: "^kfreebsd-image.*"; APT::NeverAutoRemove:: "^gnumach$"; APT::NeverAutoRemove:: "^gnumach-image.*"; APT::NeverAutoRemove:: "^linux-image-3.10-2-686-pae$"; APT::NeverAutoRemove:: "^linux-image-extra-3.10-2-686-pae$"; APT::NeverAutoRemove:: "^linux-signed-image-3.10-2-686-pae$"; APT::NeverAutoRemove:: "^linux-backports-modules-.*-3.10-2-686-pae$"; APT::NeverAutoRemove:: "^linux-headers-3.10-2-686-pae$"; APT::NeverAutoRemove:: "^linux-image-3.2.0-4-686-pae$"; APT::NeverAutoRemove:: "^linux-image-extra-3.2.0-4-686-pae$"; APT::NeverAutoRemove:: "^linux-signed-image-3.2.0-4-686-pae$"; APT::NeverAutoRemove:: "^linux-backports-modules-.*-3.2.0-4-686-pae$"; APT::NeverAutoRemove:: "^linux-headers-3.2.0-4-686-pae$"; APT::Never-MarkAuto-Sections ""; APT::Never-MarkAuto-Sections:: "metapackages"; APT::Never-MarkAuto-Sections:: "restricted/metapackages"; APT::Never-MarkAuto-Sections:: "universe/metapackages"; APT::Never-MarkAuto-Sections:: "multiverse/metapackages"; APT::Never-MarkAuto-Sections:: "oldlibs"; APT::Never-MarkAuto-Sections:: "restricted/oldlibs"; APT::Never-MarkAuto-Sections:: "universe/oldlibs"; APT::Never-MarkAuto-Sections:: "multiverse/oldlibs"; APT::Update ""; APT::Update::Post-Invoke-Success ""; APT::Update::Post-Invoke-Success:: "[ ! -f /var/run/dbus/system_bus_socket ] || /usr/bin/dbus-send --system --dest=org.debian.apt --type=signal /org/debian/apt org.debian.apt.CacheChanged || true"; APT::Update::Post-Invoke-Success:: "/usr/bin/test -e /usr/share/dbus-1/system-services/org.freedesktop.PackageKit.service && /usr/bin/test -S /var/run/dbus/system_bus_socket && /usr/bin/gdbus call --system --dest org.freedesktop.PackageKit --object-path /org/freedesktop/PackageKit --timeout 1 --method org.freedesktop.PackageKit.StateHasChanged cache-update > /dev/null; /bin/echo > /dev/null"; APT::Architectures ""; APT::Architectures:: "i386"; APT::Compressor ""; APT::Compressor::.
