Package: apt
Version: 0.9.9.4
Severity: important

Dear Maintainer,

I'm new to debian but I want to help. I don't now if it's realy "apt" problem.
Today I installed debian Wheezy with Xfce desktop from official debian DVD
and all was great. But when I changed my "sources.list" to testing and did
"apt-get update", followed by "apt-get dist-upgrade" - Initially "apt" advised
 that 600 or 700 programs will be upgraded (I don't remember the exact number);
finally more then 1200 where downloaded- I noticed that "apt" was downloading
many Gnome libraries and programs and it was removing many Xfce libraries and
programs. When "apt" finished "dist-upgrade" I restarted my laptop and I ended
up at Debian Jessie With Gnome 3 desktop.
The problem was this. I found some other people experiencing the same problem.
I hope my report is not a duplicate of other bug. Fell free to remove my report
if is not realy a bug.
Sorry for my bad english. I'm french and spanish spoken. I hope you
 understand my report.
Good luck, and thanks for all debian community :)

This is not an APT bug, but more comes from a complex dependency
problem, IIRC in network-manager, which is already known.
