Hi Urs,

could you please add the file /var/lib/dpkg/status
to the bugreport as it should made it a lot easier to reproduce this.

(The file contains information about all installed packages on your system,
 so if you feel uneasy about adding it to the bugreport feel free to just send
 it to me)

Also, try removing the binary caches:
rm /var/cache/apt/*.bin
regenerate them with:
apt-cache gencaches
and try again your install command.

If the later fixes the issue, it usually indicates hardware issues.
