The name "apt" was used by Java for quite some time, and I suspect many people
might have scripts that use "apt" and/or have a Java with "apt" installed.
It also does not make sense, as apt-get is not comparable to yum. apt-get
is a tool for modifying things, you also need apt-cache and friends to
have complete functionality, so linking apt-get to apt is counter
productive.
