We can't do package specific special-casing in APT -
we are just to low-level for that.

Your friendly higher-level front-end will be able to help you in this
regard (based on xapian, debtags or apt-file contents or or or).

(An other option would be to Provide: svn in subversion,
 but i am not sure if this would be such a good idea)

Either way, this is nothing we could fix in APT so closing.
