Bug#656865: apt-get update crashes

Package: apt
Version: 0.8.15.9
Severity: important

For me apt-get update fails most of time:

The problem seems to depend on the downloaded data: I get this problem
most of the time, but not always; but when the problem is there, just
doing another apt-get update immediately will certainly fail, and if it
isn't there, doing another apt-get update immediately will certainly
work. Doing an apt-get clean doesn't help:

> apt-get clean
> apt-get update

I mostly use unstable with a few packages from experimental.
