BTW: the -t experimental works again => thanks for fixing this one.

I suspect this has nothing to do with arch but rather to libc/g++ 
version (or both if libc headers are different depending on arch)

libc6/dev: 2.11.2-2
gcc version 4.4.4 (Debian 4.4.4-6)
