Thanks for the pointers, unfortunately the patches never reached
"upstream" before - very bad as it is already three years old…

I have no facility to test it but at least it was tested by maemo
and openembedded so it can't be that bad and even if it would
be bad it can't be more bad than a failing apt anyway. ;)

Attach is a refreshed patch which should apply fine on top of the
recent apt's in version 0.7.25 or 0.7.26~exp2 --
and it would be brilliant if someone could test it. :)
