Bug#540227: Couldn't configure pre-depend libc6-i386 for lib32stdc++6, probably a dependency cycle.
Package: apt
Version: 0.7.21
Severity: normal
Hi,
today when I run upgrade I got the following error:
E: Couldn't configure pre-depend libc6-i386 for lib32stdc++6, probably a dependency cycle.
But doing it manually I get this:
# apt-get install libc6-i386
Preparing to replace libc6-i386 2.9-21 (using .../libc6-i386_2.9-23_amd64.deb) ...
Unpacking replacement libc6-i386 ...
Setting up libc6-i386 (2.9-23) ...
# apt-get install lib32stdc++6
Preparing to replace libstdc++6 4.4.0-10 (using .../libstdc++6_4.4.1-1_amd64.deb) ...
Unpacking replacement libstdc++6 ...
Setting up libstdc++6 (4.4.1-1) ...
Apt should figure out itself that it can upgrade libc6-i386 on its own
just fine and then upgrade the rest.
