Bug#506629: apt: Apparently incorrect decision or error description

Package: apt
Version: 0.7.18
Severity: normal

The problem is on an OpenMoko FreeRunner using the fso-pkg repository
(which only exists as "unstable") as well as the normal Debian "testing"
repository.

See below a reproduction of a shell session showing that apt-get
refuses to install a package for reasons that are simply not true:
all the packages claimed as "not going to be installed" are already
installed and with a recent enough version.
So either the decision is incorrect, or the error message is incorrect.

Some packages could not be installed. This may mean that you have
requested an impossible situation or if you are using the unstable
distribution that some required packages have not yet been created
or been moved out of Incoming.

Since you only requested a single operation it is extremely likely that
the package is simply not installable and a bug report against
that package should be filed.
The following information may help to resolve the situation:

The following packages have unmet dependencies:
fso-frameworkd: Depends: python (>= 2.5) but it is not going to be installed
Depends: python-support (>= 0.7.1) but it is not going to be installed
Depends: python-serial but it is not going to be installed
Depends: python-yaml but it is not going to be installed

Depends: python-dbus but it is not going to be installed
