Hey,
I was debugging this problem and just found out that the problem is
python-apt tries to find a field named MatchURI on the 'channel' files,
but Debian.info has MatchUri instead:
(Pdb) l

198 template.match_uri = value

$ grep -i matchuri /usr/share/python-apt/templates/Debian.info

MatchUri: ftp[0-9]*\.[a-z]\.debian\.org
