Re: Bug#470713: apt: removing cupsys removes scribus as well
package apt
reassign 470713 aptitude
thanks
I think this is probably an aptitude bug, and I think I know how to
fix it, but I need more information. I'll take responsibility for
handling it or reassigning it to the proper package.

I apologize for being unclear. See below for a better explanation.

What I meant was that at this prompt, instead of entering "y", you
should enter "o". That will produce something like this:
---- cut here ----
Accept this solution? [Y/n/q/?] o
bluez-cups depends upon cupsys
-> Removing bluez-cups
cupsys-bsd recommends cupsys
-> Installing cupsys-bsd 1.2.7-4etch2 (stable)
cupsys-bsd depends upon cupsys-client (= 1.2.7-4etch2)
-> Installing cupsys-client 1.2.7-4etch2 (stable)
---- cut here ----
This will give us some idea of why aptitude is making these decisions.
If you have access to web space, it would also be handy if you could run
"aptitude-create-state-bundle 470713.tar.bz2" and place the resulting
file somewhere that I can download it (I'll let you know when I've got it).
This is all assuming you can get the system back to a state in which
the bug is exhibited. If not, we might as well close this bug, because
I don't really know what's going on yet. My guess, though, is that
installing all the packages that were removed before (cups-pdf, cupsys,
cupsys-bsd, cupsys-driver-gutenprint, min12xxw, and scribus) will get you
back to where you started.
