Bug#380509: apt: dynamic MMap ran out of room, again

Package: apt
Version: 0.6.44.2exp1
Severity: normal

Hello,

when I install packages from multiple CDs, I usually get
this message on the second CD when apt is extracting templates.
Also, when I'm installing through aptitude, aptitude fails to
reload the cache after the install. My cache files amount to some
35 MB and I'm using -o APT::Cache-File=200000000, so I suspect it
is a memory leak.

Please, feel free to ask for testcases etc. if you can't reproduce
it.

I think, however, that the Dynamic MMap which is by no means dynamic,
should be abolished.

Regards
   Jiri Palecek
