Bug#340371: apt: apt-key update fails with bogus err
Hi
Please note again that this still happens here, with a fresh apt:
# apt-key update
ERROR: Can't find the archive-keyring
Is the debian-keyring package installed?
$ apt-cache policy debian-keyring
debian-keyring:
Installed: 2005.05.28
Candidate: 2005.05.28
$ apt-cache policy apt
apt:
Installed: 0.6.43
Candidate: 0.6.43
So this bug still seems being present. In the meantime, unless I
misunderstood the whole thing: Could please someone from the apt
maintainers tell us how we could proceed locally to workaround this
issue until this bug is fixed?
That is, is it OK to either manually change the lines
ARCHIVE_KEYRING=/usr/share/keyrings/debian-archive-keyring.gpg
REMOVED_KEYS=/usr/share/keyrings/debian-archive-removed-keys.gpg
in /usr/bin/apt-key
to something like
ARCHIVE_KEYRING=/usr/share/keyrings/debian-keyring.pgp
REMOVED_KEYS=/usr/share/keyrings/debian-<removed-what-???>
or can we safely move the key from debian-keyring
/usr/share/keyrings/debian-keyring.pgp
and
/usr/share/keyrings/debian-<removed-what-???>
to
/usr/share/keyrings/debian-archive-keyring.gpg
/usr/share/keyrings/debian-archive-removed-keys.gpg
to keep /usr/bin/apt-key happy?
Or is all this a bug in debian-keyring?
Or what am I missing ... :) ... ?
Thanks a lot in anticipation.
Best Regards
Wolfgang
