man apt_Preferences
Hi,
I'm doing some reconaissance on apt.conf (default=stable) with a
preferences file. Pin-priority though is somewhat confusing.
-> AFAIK when setting apt.conf to
APT::Default-Release "stable";
this sets all installed packages to priority 100, all non-stable
packages wich are not installed to priority 500 and all stable packages
wich are not installed to priority 990.
Allright, so far. But when i apply the priority-level as i think it
should be i get pretty awkward (as a bit unpredictable) results. I'm a
novice apt-driver and am quite happy having been able to avoid serious
impact so far.
In attachment is my preferences (apt.conf-backup) file, in case you want
to bother having a go at it. If i need to refine it, rewrite it or what
else is required i'd be happy to collaborate.
So far i'v been trying to get different resources to merge with
debian-stable,testing(only if newer),unstable(only if unique).
For example : A typical issue is that libsdl1.2debian is installed from
stable while newer exists in testing, this version is not selected. When
i manually install libsdl1.2debian-all it removes blender (from own uri)
and all older libsdl1.2debian packages.
What can i do to get all these resources merged without version
conflicts ?
