Bug#190310: apt: --from to select download sources (notebooks!)
Package: apt
Version: 0.5.4
Severity: wishlist
hello
I have a notebook and a wish for APT
it would be nice to have an option such as
--from 'regex'
it may be used to select which lines in /etc/apt/sources.list to use;
it would be very useful for notebooks:
examples:
apt-get --from cdrom install thisandthat
I would use this option at home, where I have the Woody CDROMS but I
don't have a good internet connection; whereas I would use
apt-get --from 'ftp|http' install thisandthat
from workplace. Similarly, I would use
apt-get --from '.it' install thisandthat
when I am in Italy, but I would use
apt-get --from '.org' install thisandthat
when I (seldom) travel to the USA.
thanx
a.m.
