Bug#202410: apt: Tries to downgrade vgabios from version 0.3a+20030324-1 to 0.3a-1

Package: apt
Version: 0.5.5.1
Severity: important

Hi,

[144]/root# LC_ALL=C apt-get -uV install vgabios
Reading Package Lists... Done
Building Dependency Tree... Done
The following packages will be upgraded
   vgabios (0.3a+20030324-1 => 0.3a-1)
1 packages upgraded, 0 newly installed, 0 to remove and 2 not upgraded.

So apt-get consideres switching from 0.3a+20030324-1 to 0.3a-1 as an
UPGRADE, although for dpkg it would be a DOWNGRADE

[135]/home/robert> dpkg --compare-versions 0.3a-1 gt 0.3a+20030324-1 && \
> echo " 0.3a-1 > 0.3a+20030324-1 " || \
> echo " 0.3a-1 < 0.3a+20030324-1 "
 0.3a-1 < 0.3a+20030324-1

And no, I don't set any apt pinning preferences,
but my available packages comes from two sources:
- a woody CDs (unfortunatelly labeled as "unstable" in Release files)
- current sid mirror

Regards

Robert
