Bug#177272: apt: should respect DEBIAN_FRONTEND=noninteractive

Perhaps. Do you have any suggestions on how the call to
/usr/lib/dpkg/methods/apt/install /var/lib/dpkg
should be changed to call apt-get directly? At the moment it will
fetch and install the packages currently marked for installation.
I've not found any other way to do this.

What do you mean? My patches changes the two prompts I am currently
seing to understand DEBIAN_FRONTEND=noninteractive, and use the
default value instead of prompting. The only problem I see with my
patch is how I am supposed to set DEBIAN_FRONTEND within
base-installer during installation, but I'm sure I'll find a solution
to this problem.
