Bug#60488: This is still a problem
I was going to submit a bug report of my own, but it turns out this bug is over
two years old.
The reason I ran across it is that I trashed my /usr/share directory
accidentally on purpose (heh), and in hopes of restoring it I marked all my
packages for re-install in aptitude. I spent a couple hours narrowing down what
combinations of packages invoked the bug, and when I had it down to two (libc6
and libncurses5 as it turns out), and I could re-produce it on another machine,
I went and looked at bugs.debian.org only to find it's a known bug.
So, having spent some time chasing this down I decided I'd mail in a "me too" to
freshen the bug. The ability to re-install all the current packages seems like
a Good Thing to me. So, if there's anything a mere user can do to help with
this bug, I'm available.
