Bug#165365: reopen

reopen 165365
thanks

As stated in my last mail, this does not quite satisfy me, although it
solves the most widespread situation.

In sources.list what we write is "stable" or "woody" (although I urge
everyone NEVER to use "stable" in their sources.list), not 3.0. It is
really inconsistent (in addition to being less powerful, with no
apparent reason) not to be able to use the same names in
DefaultRelease and such.

The reason why I simply don't fgo and ile a patch is that this will
require changes to other tools as well (eg. those generating Release
files), which I mostly have no idea where to find, and that will
surely require approval from several people before being accepted.
